Second day of editing!
As I continue to edit, my excitement to see the final product grows. The idea that the video I've been gathering over the past few weeks will soon be put together into a finished work is astounding. I added all the transitions today to ensure a smooth workflow. I also added the music, which was just a standard piece of menacing music that grew more menacing over time. Given that my short film revolves around a kidnapping, I thought this best encapsulated its essence. Because of the music, the audience can tell right away that something horrible is going to happen. However, until it actually happens, they are unable to know for sure. Because of the exact element that this music creates for my viewers, I felt that it could keep them more engaged. I find that the suspense element can be quite captivating. All of this reminds me of how I chose my pitch idea: I wanted it to be interesting. Not something dull, but something that would entice my viewers to keep watching was what I was going for. In order to finish my short film, I also included the final scene that fades to black. To improve the flow, I also had to slow down some clips and speed up others. I can't wait to add the finishing touches, which will happen quickly. This will entail adding my titles and correcting anything I believe I overlooked on my previous editing days.
