My Pitch!

Pitch A: When a girl is at the mall by herself and notices someone following her, but when the person approaches her she does not go without a fight.

I created this pitch because I am a young woman who go to the mall regularly, either with some friends family or by myself. It can be scary sometimes because you never know what someone else may be planning to do. Many young woman are targeted because they can be seen as less of a fight. It is very important for all people to know how to protect themselves in a scary situation like this one. I also do like the idea of filming in a mall because I love going to the mall. 

Pitch B: Two sisters are having a normal normal night watching a movie when they begin to see eerie shadows and receive creepy text messages.

I created this pitch because I think it will be fun to film something a little scary and thrilling. This pitch creates tension by fusing unexpected, unnerving elements with the relatable scene of a typical evening. The audience is instantly drawn in by this juxtaposition, which speaks to universal emotions before revealing a sinister and mysterious twist that makes viewers want to know more about the mystery as it develops.

My Decision: I have decided to go with Pitch B. I think this pitch will be a lot more fun to film because it is very mysterious and suspenseful. Suspense and mystery are universal themes, and the pitch capitalizes on these to keep the audience interested right away. The familiar scene of two sisters watching a movie gives the ominous shadows and spooky texts a sense of normalcy that heightens the unease. The plot appeals to viewers who like a combination of commonplace events with a hint of the paranormal because it provides a balance between the known and the unknown. The sisters' encounter with unsettling shadows plays on viewers' fear of the unknown and builds suspense. The two sisters' relationship gives the story emotional depth, making the audience concerned for their welfare and strengthening the link to the events that are taking place. A contemporary and relevant element is added by the use of technology, such as eerie text messages, which resonates with a modern audience. Throughout the story, the audience is kept on the edge of their seats by the slow build-up of tension, which takes them on an emotional rollercoaster.
