My Genre Decision Thriller: The thriller genre, suspense, tension, and excitement are characteristics of the thriller genre of film. Thriller films frequently have a fast-moving storyline with a manner of danger or intensity because the main character is put in a risky circumstance or must overcome a difficult obstacle in a short quantity of time. The third genre of film that I will be researching is the Horror genre. Horror can be a very fun genre to watch with friends or family. I personally cannot watch horror films alone because I am too scared. It is the goal of movies in the horror genre to frighten and surprise their viewers. Horror movies frequently deal with themes of death, fear, and the unidentified and frequently feature supernatural or unearthly elements, such as ghosts, monsters, or demons. Jump scares, strenuous visual impacts, and suspenseful soundtrack are some of the common methods used in horror films to build tension and suspense. Drama has to be another one of my favorite genres of film because of that same aspect of suspense. A drama is a dramatic story about human struggle and feelings are included in the broad category of drama in film. Dramas frequently feature believable characters in normal circumstances while examining topics of connections, individuality, and personal development. The aim of the drama genre is to evoke empathy and thought-provoking perspectives from the audience by giving the viewer an understanding of feelings depth and relation with the characters. Dramas can be divided into a variety of sub genres, including historical drama, family drama, romantic drama, crime drama, and more. Pitch A:  When a girl is at the mall by herself and notices someone following her, but when the person approaches her she does not go without a fight. I created this pitch because I am a young woman who go to the mall regularly, either with some friends family or by myself. It can be scary sometimes because you never know what someone else may be planning to do. Many young woman are targeted because they can be seen as less of a fight. It is very important for all people to know how to protect themselves in a scary  situation like this one.  My work will be done alone. When I work alone, I am able to complete my tasks more quickly and efficiently because there are no outside distractions. Additionally, I won't be able to find time to record with any of my nearby friends. For my short film, I will be handling every aspect of the recording, planning, editing, and production.  My schedule fits better when I work alone because I don't have to worry about scheduling meetings with people. I won't be bothered if someone has trouble getting together because I don't depend on my group for support. When we do group activities, I don't like hearing other people's perspectives. I also do better working alone because I prefer to complete my tasks in a particular manner without interference from others. When work is assigned and someone doesn't finish their portion, I also have a tendency to get stressed.  Hello, I'm Jasmine Mendez. I go to Fort Lauderdale High School and am eager to begin my A level studies in media studies. I am back and ready to create the best work that I can. I took AS Level Media Studies last year as a sophomore and am now a junior. I'm happy to be continuing a class that studies movies because I love movies so much. I worked on a few projects last year. I'll only be doing one this year. I'll make the entire short film myself. In order to make my film, I'll apply the knowledge and abilities I gained from last year's research.
