Movie Conventions Research: Luckiest Girl Alive

The second movie that I will be researching for thriller conventions is Luckiest Girl Alive. "Luckiest Girl Alive" is a thriller movie released in 2022. The story of the film centers on Ani, a popular magazine author who has been concealing a painful past for several years.

What elements of thriller does this movie have? 

- Ani's personality is an iconic illustration of a protagonist from a thriller film with a difficult past. She is plagued by flashbacks of a terrifying incident that occurred to her when she was a teenager, and these memories continue to influence her character and actions. High stakes, as Ani tries to maintain her cautiously cultivated image while also attempting to make peace with her history, the film includes high stakes. Plot twists, Luckiest Girl Alive contains many surprises that keep the viewer on the edge of their seat. The unforeseen turns these twists produce keep the viewers interested and on the edge of their seats while also revealing disguised layers to the plot. Flashbacks, the film uses flashbacks to depict Ani's horrific past, which heightens the suspense and mystery. The utilization of flashbacks also aids in the understanding of Ani's personality and intentions by the viewer. Characters with depth, the film features characters with depth. Every character has unique underlying motives and secrets, which heighten the suspense and tension throughout the entire film.

What elements of thriller did the movie have that I like?

- I enjoyed the use of flashbacks, I feel they can bring in a whole new perspective of the movie which is an amazing feature. I enjoyed the way they slowly became more progressive. The way they slowly began to reveal more as the movie continued. This also added to the suspense because the viewer would always want to know what was going to happen next when suddenly stopped. 

What elements of thriller did the movie have that did not appeal to me?

- The movie elements were overall amazing I love the way that they portrayed the life of a women who has been through so much. Though I did feel this subject is definitely extremely controversial which in my opinion does build more of a urge to watch. On the other hand some people may not like this if they have opposing views to this topic. So for me personally I liked all conventions of this film.

Commercial Conventions I will be doing a shoe commercial for product Crocs. In these commercials, it is typical for the audience to see people running or just different angles of the shoe.  The shoes are the main subject in the commercial. They do things that revolve around the shoe, that add to it, like playing soccer with your feet.  The setting of these commercials, crocs specifically are usually very colorful and vibrant. This is to match the many different colors that crocs can come in. By using these colors they try to draw in the viewers because there are many vibrant colors.  In these commercials the actor is put into scenes such as dancing with their families or running with their friends, the shoes are specifically shown because they are having fun in them. Art of the Title Website The website's home page is displayed when it is first opened. This homepage contains of a display of the "Top Five: Micheal DeForge." At the top of the website there are two drop down menus, one says "Title Sequence" and the other says "Designers + Studios." When clicking on the first drop down menu, title sequence a display of many different movies is shown. When clicking on the second drop down menu, Designers + Studios many different names of designers are shown and different studios. I clicked on one random name and more information about that person came up. Additionally, it listed the films and honors the individual has received. The title sequence bar displayed the most recent, top picks, and classic films when I clicked on it.
