Genre Research: Thriller

The first genre that I will be researching is thriller. Thriller is one of my favorite genres to watch when it comes to films. The thriller genre, suspense, tension, and excitement are characteristics of the thriller genre of film. Thriller films frequently have a fast-moving storyline with a manner of danger or intensity because the main character is put in a risky circumstance or must overcome a difficult obstacle in a short quantity of time. Mental thrillers, lawful thrillers, espionage thrillers, action thrillers, and other subgenres are all examples of thrillers. They frequently contain storyline cliffhangers and unexpected events that maintain the audience or viewer guessing about what will occur next. I personally like the suspension aspect of a movie it makes me want to watch the film must more even as it progresses. Some of the main points that are focused on in this research are the in depth meaning of what a thriller is. Also common camera angles, mise-en-scene, sound, editing, and movies that are popular now that use this genre.

What elements of thriller do I enjoy?
- I personally love editing that they use, the use of parallel editing to generate tension for the viewer. Switching from scene to scene to show two actions happening at once in order to increase the suspense and tension. I also love the different camera angles they use to keep the viewer captivated and very intrigued by what is going on. I like almost all of the elements of a thriller that are included in my research below.

What elements of thriller do I not enjoy?
- I personally hate the element of low light in the thriller genre. Though I do understand the use of it. I feel in many films they tend to make the lighter much too low, I like to be able to see exactly what is going on. Though in order to create tension in the viewer this is added, and makes complete sense.
