Designing my Titles!
Title Design
The titles must be distinctive when designing my opening sequence in order to correspond with the tone the film will convey. I got a vision for the fonts and colors I wanted for my titles after viewing a number of opening scenes from thriller movies. To make them stand out in my opening sequence, my titles will have large, bold fonts. They will need to be rugged and in all caps to give the theme of a thriller. They cannot be soft and happy because the genre thriller is full of suspension and action. I plan to use a bold looking font like Gil Sans or others. For example, I may make it look something like the example below, if not exactly the same.
This is just one of the examples that will be similar to my final product, I am not entirely set on the red color. I may just go with something as simple as white or black though I do want the slightly rugged look, not a complete solid color. If I do decide to do this color scheme of black in white instead then some changes will occur. The color scheme of the names may change based on the scene's backdrop. There will be black title designs and white title designs. The titles will appear in the center, bottom right corner, or top left corner, based on the shot and title. For instance, the production company name and movie title will both be centered. Then, as the texts disperse, the words will disappear from the screen. There will be about three seconds of every title on the display. The titles will enter onto the screen as if they were being typed, this is to mimic the idea of the fact that a child has been kidnapped is going into the system. They will then disappear with a fade out. The name of the person who holds the title will be slightly larger than the actual title of what they do. My working title is "TAKEN" though I am not set on this, if I do end up thinking of another title, I will change it. I feel it will likely change but at the moment that is the best idea I can come up with.
