Props: 

I will use props like duffle bags and different types of bags used when you travel because I will be arriving at a hotel. It will be a vacation setting so towels may also be used as props because I will go to the pool at my resort. Room keys will also be used as a prop when entering the hotel room for the first time. Different types of cool food and drinks we end up buying may also be used as props in my music video. 

Costumes: 

Costumes will likely ordinary, possibly a little colorful whatever fits the mood of the setting. Other than that bathing suits may be costumes considering I will likely film at the pool. I would definitely prefer colorful outfits but I feel they need to match the setting for the storyline to make sense.  

Schedule:

  • On 11/13/22, I researched conventions relating to pop/rap music videos. 
  • On 11/14/22, I established the location, props, costumes, schedule, and backup plan for the music video. 
  • On 11/15/22, I will create the storyboard for my 30 second music video.
  • On 11/19/22, I will begin filming for my music video.
  • On 11/22/22, I will begin to edit and add final touches to my music video. 

Location and Set:

My locations will change frequently, I will have many different locations as I am following a vacation like storyline. The car and on the road will be one location. The hotel room will be another location. The pool will be another location. Lastly, the possible appearance of a theme park. 

Health and Safety Protocols:

Nothing unsafe will occur during all processes of my filming. All people filmed in the pool will know how to swim to prevent anything from happening. There are not many health and safety protocols I need to follow because all of it is already naturally safe. 

Backup Plan:

  • If it rains the day I planned to film outside I will record another day, pushing back editing day as well. 
  • If the people I want to use in my film are unable to record the day I like then I will use someone else. 
  • If my phone camera is not working or quality is bad I will use my moms phone to record.

Research Blog: Commercial Conventions

Commercial Conventions I will be doing a shoe commercial for product Crocs. In these commercials, it is typical for the audience to see people running or just different angles of the shoe.  The shoes are the main subject in the commercial. They do things that revolve around the shoe, that add to it, like playing soccer with your feet.  The setting of these commercials, crocs specifically are usually very colorful and vibrant. This is to match the many different colors that crocs can come in. By using these colors they try to draw in the viewers because there are many vibrant colors.  In these commercials the actor is put into scenes such as dancing with their families or running with their friends, the shoes are specifically shown because they are having fun in them. Props could include the shoes themself along with the the setting followed.
