CCR: Gone Girl

This is my creative critical reflection on my final project. I made the decision to respond to the question in the form of an interview where I played both roles, myself and Anjali Patel, the interviewer. I had a great time with this last task, talking into a camera was a little different for me but overall I found it fun. Thank you, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did creating it.

Final Task: Gone Girl

My final task is complete, and the completed product is ready. This project took me countless hours to complete, but I believe it was well spent in the end.  I sincerely hope you enjoy viewing it as much as I did creating it.

Editing is Complete!

I am very excited to say that my editing is finally complete. I added the titles as well as the music in the background. Although the road to this point has been long, it feels as though the effort has been worthwhile. I was aware that I had a ton of work ahead of me as I sat down at my computer this morning. I spent weeks fine-tuning and adjusting every aspect of the opening sequence until it was just right. However, as I rewatched the sequence before making any final edits, I experienced a wave of pride. When the sounds and images blended together naturally, I knew I had produced something truly unique It's difficult to convey the sheer amount of labor that goes into making a movie, especially when it comes to editing. To tell a cogent and compelling story, each shot, sound effect, and transition in the movie must be carefully planned and perfected. I had a general idea of how I wanted the opening sequence to look and feel when I began editing it. But as I dug deeper into the vid...

Unable to Edit

Image
I was unfortunately not able to edit within the time I last edited and today. It was unfortunate but it is not that big of a deal. I have been really busy with lots of school work. Exams are coming up which has me under a lot of stress. I have been having many mock exams that i’ve needed to study for. This is a reason that I have not had any time to edit. Upcoming I have many deadlines for study guides and test. It is crunch time right now because of all of my exams. All of my major exams are all within a month. Whether it's attending a lecture, finishing an assignment, or studying for an exam, there always seems to be something that needs to be done. I've been struggling to keep up with everything because of the continuous pressure to perform well. I'm still determined to perform well and pass my exams in spite of everything. I've been working hard to stay organized and put in long hours studying, and I'm optimistic that my efforts will be rewarded in the end. Even...

Second Day of Editing!

Image
I'm getting more and more eager to see the finished product as I continue editing. It's incredible to consider that the footage I've been collecting over the last few weeks will soon be assembled into a complete piece. Today I added all transitions to make my work flow nicely. I also added the music which was just some regular ominous music that progressively got more ominous. I felt this captured the essence of my opening sequence best because it is about a kidnapping. From the beginning the viewer can know that something bad is going to happen because of the music. Though they are not able to know for sure until it finally hits. I felt this music could keep my viewers more engaged because of that exact element that it creates for them. The element of suspense can be very captivating in my opinion. This all brings me back to how I decided my pitch idea, I wanted something that was engaging. I wanted something that would make my audience want to keep watching, not something...

First Day of Editing!

Image
I am beyond excited to get started with editing. Today was the first day of editing, this was extremely exciting because I can finally get an idea of what my final project will look like. I am again using iMovie like I did for my music video. I was able to use it much easier than for my music video because it was my first time using it but now I have experience due to my music video. The fact that I had an improved knowledge of the program from my past work is one of the factors that has made this editing process simpler than my prior experience with iMovie. As a result, I was able to get going right away without having to devote a lot of time learning how to use the different tools. I already did have all of my shots inserted into the "My Movie" section of iMovie. I inserted them as soon as I filmed them so I would not have a hard time looking for them when I began real editing. I now, today put them in the correct order and got rid of any unnecessary clips. I also adjusted ...
