Editing Blog: Final Editing Day!

Editing went great! I am happy with the outcome. I edited the rest of the clips I had left, getting rid of things I did not need. I also added new things that may have not been in my planning and storyboards. Some shots just did not look as good as I wanted so I completely got rid of them, some extra shots I took looked much better than my planned ones. Therefore I used these clips instead of the planned ones that did not look as good. I also asked my cousin for help during the editing process because she has worked with my editing software, iMovie. She also took this class so she knows the expectations and her help was greatly appreciated. My favorite clips to edit were definitely the pool clips. They looked very aesthetic and the lighting in my opinion was perfect. I am thinking back at it now and I wish my music video was simply based in a pool setting. Specifically the one I was at when I filmed the few clips that I filmed there. I tired to keep these clips as long as possible because I loved the feel that they gave. Unfortunately there were only three of them and they were not too long but I do love the addition that they made. Though just because I was thinking back on my decisions I know that it is going to look great even without the new idea I thought up. I enjoy that there are many different scenes and a story being told. Rather than just one place throughout the entire video. I believe it is very necessary to have many different types of clips and settings because there is a story being told. I think giving it a story makes it much more immersive than just one pretty area. Also my song is a happy upbeat summery vacation feel which is another reason that I specifically wanted to include a story. As well as many different settings to show doing many different things is fun. Overall I have enjoyed editing so much and I think it came out great in the end even with the many difficulties that were experienced.
