Creative Critical Reflection

1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups and issues?

My product uses conventions by having many different cool and interesting scenes. In many music videos you see cool sets and cool outfits. My music video contained many cool settings, such as the pool, fields, auditoriums, and resorts. My music video represents social groups and issues because my song is a hiphop/rap song and they are usually fun and happy. This music video is intended for all audiences. People will be inspired to take a vacation and have fun after having watched this video because everyone deserves to be joyful and have a good time. Stressed-out people will recognize when it's appropriate to occasionally let loose and have fun. 

2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text?

My video interacts with my audience because it makes them want to have fun and go on a vacation, loosen up a little. It can make my audience want to get away and go to a nice resort and swim in a nice pool. Go to a concert of some sort find different fun things to do with the people that you love. Just go on a drive with the music that you love and have a good time. Music can be very helpful to some people it can change the mood of a person entirely. My music video could be distributed as an actual music video. For instance it could be posted on YouTube for all people to see and enjoy. 

3. How did your production skills develop throughout this project? 

I was using a completely different software than I did for my last project so in a way I had to reteach myself how to use it. I gained knowledge about using progressions to seamlessly incorporate several different clips. I also managed to learn how to incorporate music throughout my entire video and when to fade it out. The music was definitely the hardest part for me as I mentioned in a past blog because I could not find a easy tutorial on how. Though in the end I managed to add the music just fine. I also learned how to set speeds, though I hardly ever used it. I gained knowledge on how to effectively create a brief music video with captivating features.

4. How did you integrate technologies - software, hardware, and online - in this project?

I initially recorded all of my clips using my phone. I then transferred all of my video clips to my laptop and opened iMovie to edit them. I combined them into one seamless long commercial and stored them to my desktop. In order to embed it in Blogger, I then posted it to Vimeo. I had to post my music video to Vimeo before sharing it with Blogger in order for it to be published on my blog. I also had to learn how to use Vimeo in order to attach it to my blogger because I was unable to use YouTube like I did for my last project. The entirety of this project was made with technology, technology is the base of our world now, it has changed the way we learn and do everything in our life.

I learned more about how to create my own film by watching this video, "How to Make a Short Film."  Even though I had some prior experience making films, this video provided additional advice that will be useful to me as I continue to make short films.  In this video, a film specialist offers post-production as well as production advice.  I found two particularly noteworthy production tips: play with the audience's feelings and minds, and avoid it if you can't.  The advice to "don't do it if you can't pull it off" truly caught my attention.  The movie expert says that you shouldn't try to do something for the movie that you can't do perfectly. Genre Research: Drama

The second genre of film that I will be researching is drama. Drama has to be another one of my favorite genres of film because of that same aspect of suspense. A drama is a dramatic story about human struggle and feelings are included in the broad category of drama in film. Dramas frequently feature believable characters in normal circumstances while examining topics of connections, individuality, and personal development. The aim of the drama genre is to evoke empathy and thought-provoking perspectives from the audience by giving the viewer an understanding of feelings depth and relation with the characters. Dramas can be divided into a variety of sub genres, including historical drama, family drama, romantic drama, crime drama, and more. These motion pictures frequently have complicated characters and subtle plot lines, and they can be severe, heartwarming, or thought-provoking. Title Research: Don’t Worry Darling

1. What titles are displayed during the opening sequences?  The first opening sequence that I researched was "Don't Worry Darling." The sequence begins off by displaying titles for the directors, screen writers, story writers, producers, director of photography, production designer, editors, music composer and conductor, visual effects supervisor, music supervisor, costume designer, and cast directors. After these titles are shown a list with actors that are in the movie begins to be displayed.  2. What images are prioritized in the opening sequence?  This opening sequence contains one shot being prioritized throughout the entire sequence.
