Creative Critical Reflection: Crocs Commercial

 Creative Critical Reflection

1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups and issues?

The performer is placed in scenes such as dancing with their families or running with their friends in these advertisements, and the shoes are particularly displayed because they are having fun in them. The actors in these advertisements are very happy and convey very positive feelings about the product. Furthermore, the shoe mobility is intriguing and slowed to enhance the shoe's visual style. Because they want all of the focus on the shoes, these advertisements frequently use a variety of overstated camera angles. Most of these conventions were used in my commercial.

2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text?

My products engages with the audience by the text I added on the screen, the audience has to read the screen and the different ways that Crocs are convenient and a exponential buy. The phrases, "Relaxed mode, Sports mode, Customize with jibbitz" are all ways that can attract a certain audience. Being able to customize your shoe however you like is something intriguing that can attract attention. My commercial could be broadcast on television as a type of media text. I uploaded it to YouTube as a further way to make it available to the public.

3. How did your production skills develop throughout this project?

My project skills developed excessively throughout this project because i have never edited a short video/film before. I learned how to combine multiple different clips smoothly through the use of  transitions. I also learned how to add music to the entirety of my commercial and how to fade the music out at the right times. I also learned how to add text to my clips and set their duration for the correct amount of time. Setting speeds was also something that I learned but only used very slightly. I learned how to stack different clips in order to provide different effects like used in the end of my commercial with the croc logo. I learned how to effectively make a short commercial with intriguing attributes.

4. How did you integrate technologies - software, hardware, and online - in this project?

To begin, I shot all of my clips on my phone. I then copied all of my clips to my laptop and imported them into Clipchamp. I saved them to my desktop after combining them into one long smooth commercial. I then uploaded it to YouTube so I could embed it in Blogger. To publish my commercial on Blogger, I had to first upload it to YouTube and then share it with Blogger so that it would publish to my blog.
