Planning for my Crocs commercial

Props:

The product that my commercial will be on is Crocs therefore the Crocs will be the main prop that I use in this commercial. There will likely be no other props used.

Costumes:

In my commercial there will be multiple people likely wearing colorful clothes to match the color of their vibrantly colored shoes. Though the costumes do not have much correlation with the shoes themselves. Any clothes that want to be worn can be worn. Dark general clothes can also be worn to allow the shoes to pop. 

Schedule:

  • On 9/26/22, I researched conventions relating to shoe commercials. 
  • On 9/27/22, I established the location, props, costumes, schedule, and backup plan for the commercial. 
  • On 9/30/22, I will create the storyboard for my 30 second commercial.
  • On 10/3/11, I will begin filming for my commercial.
  • On 10/4/22, I will begin to edit and add final touches to my commercial. 

Location and Set:

My main location will be in my cousins house as well as her backyard. I will record inside showing that the shoes are great for indoor activities. As well as record outside to show they can also be worn outdoors to have fun. The set will include general house furniture and natural outdoor environment. 

Backup Plan:

  • If it rains the day I planned to film outside I will only film inside and record outside another day, pushing back editing day as well. 
  • If I have to babysit my niece the day I planned to record I will film another day, pushing back editing day as well.
  • If the people I want to use in my film are unable to record the day I like then I will use someone else. 
  • If my phone camera is not working or quality is bad I will use my moms phone to record. 
  • If I am unable to use my cousins house I will use my own.

I learned more about how to create my own film by watching this video, "How to Make a Short Film."  Even though I had some prior experience making films, this video provided additional advice that will be useful to me as I continue to make short films.  In this video, a film specialist offers post-production as well as production advice.  I found two particularly noteworthy production tips: play with the audience's feelings and minds, and avoid it if you can't.  The advice to "don't do it if you can't pull it off" truly caught my attention.  The movie expert says that you shouldn't try to do something for the movie that you can't do perfectly. Genre Research: Drama

The second genre of film that I will be researching is drama. Drama has to be another one of my favorite genres of film because of that same aspect of suspense. A drama is a dramatic story about human struggle and feelings are included in the broad category of drama in film. Dramas frequently feature believable characters in normal circumstances while examining topics of connections, individuality, and personal development. The aim of the drama genre is to evoke empathy and thought-provoking perspectives from the audience by giving the viewer an understanding of feelings depth and relation with the characters. Dramas can be divided into a variety of sub genres, including historical drama, family drama, romantic drama, crime drama, and more. These motion pictures frequently have complicated characters and subtle plot lines, and they can be severe, heartwarming, or thought-provoking. Title Research: Don’t Worry Darling

1. What titles are displayed during the opening sequences?  The first opening sequence that I researched was "Don't Worry Darling." The sequence begins off by displaying titles for the directors, screen writers, story writers, producers, director of photography, production designer, editors, music composer and conductor, visual effects supervisor, music supervisor, costume designer, and cast directors. After these titles are shown a list with actors that are in the movie begins to be displayed.  2. What images are prioritized in the opening sequence?  This opening sequence contains one shot being prioritized throughout the entire sequence.
