Critical Reflection

Image
My short film “The Watcher” is a drama-thriller that tells the story of two sisters who are watching a movie on what they think is a normal night like any other, however this night takes a dark turn. As the night progresses, the sisters start to see weird shadows in their window and get weird knocks at their front door. Then one of the sisters is taken, while the one left is searching for her, she herself also gets kidnapped.            In my film, the two sisters' story of what begins as a typical night and turns into a terrifying ordeal offers a moving look at female vulnerability and empowerment. The sisters' journey demonstrates the strength and resilience women possess even in precarious situations as they face danger and abduction. Final Editing Day!

Image
I'm thrilled to announce that my editing is now finished. Along with the background music, I added the titles. Despite the lengthy journey to get here, it seems like the effort has been worthwhile. As I sat down at my computer this morning, I knew I had a ton of work ahead of me. I worked on the short film for weeks, perfecting and modifying every element until it was perfect. I did, however, feel a sense of pride when I watched the video again before making any final edits. When the audio and visuals merged organically, I realized I had created something genuinely exceptional. The sheer amount of work that goes into producing a film is hard to describe, particularly in the editing department. Every shot, sound effect, and transition in the film needs to be meticulously thought out and executed in order to tell a coherent and captivating story. When I started editing the short film, I had a general idea of how I wanted it to feel and look. However, as I watched the video more close...

No Editing Today

Image
It's been hard for me to even consider editing because I've been drowning in schoolwork lately. Whenever I settle down to polish my writing, I'm met with an overwhelming pile of homework and textbooks that need to be done right now. I feel as though I'm caught in a never-ending cycle of readings, essays, and tests, with little time to breathe, much less write well. When you're trying to meet the demanding requirements of academia and juggling multiple deadlines, it can be difficult to maintain focus, attention to detail, and clarity of mind qualities that are necessary for editing. I have the impression that my brain is overloaded because it is continuously shifting between topics and attempting to take in an infinite amount of data. There just isn't any more space for the meticulous examination and improvement that good editing necessitates. It's annoying, to put it mildly. Although I am aware that my writing needs to be seriously revised, finding the time ...
